Button Mushrooms are highly nutritious in protein and are therefore very good substitutes for animal protein like meat. Button mushrooms can be used as the main accompaniment in a full meal and they serve well with bulky starches or carbohydrates e.g., Spaghetti, Ugali, Rice, Chapatis etc.
To bulk up your Mushroom Stew, you may add other vegetable accompaniments that are readily available in grocery store like Dhania (Coriander), Kitunguu Saumu (garlic), Pilipili-hoho (Capsicums), Biringanya (Eggplant), Tangawizi (Whole ginger), Courgette, Cucumbers, Cauliflower, Tomatoes, etc
